Background:

UNDP Moldova implements the Project “Support to Confidence Building Measures”, aiming to address the needs of Transnistrian communities, including the security zone, by increasing their access to basic social and economic services, as well as to objective and diversified sources of information.

Supporting business advisory services and practices, empowering communities to implement development projects, as well as local actors to deliver services and upgrade the basic infrastructure, constitute priority activities of the Project.

Another priority of the project is to support initiatives and actions that foster development of civil society in the Transnistrian region, responding to pressing community needs and helping citizens solve their problems through common work and participation.

In order to achieve this objective the Project “Support to Confidence Building Measures” initiated a Grants Program, to be implemented in the period of August 2010 – June 2011.

Priority will be given to project proposals establishing cross-river partnerships between two or more organizations; proposals that foster the citizen’s involvement in solving pressing community problems, as well as innovative projects that represent models that can be replicated or applied at a larger scale. 

The duration of projects will be at least four months, but no longer than seven months, starting with November 2010.

The awarded grants will range from € 10,000 to € 50,000. 

The rules for submission, evaluation and selection of project proposals are set out in the Guide for Applicants*.

The application package should contain the following documents:

• application form*;
• copy of the organization’s registration certificate;
• copy of the statute of the organization;
• declaration of partnership (where applicable), signed by parties;
• CVs of the project coordinator, the accountant and the key personnel to be involved in the project (same format for the whole team);
• CVs of the experts to be involved in project implementation;
• Other materials considered to be relevant in order to increase the organization’s credibility and complement the  project proposal: reccomendation letters from other donors; annual activity reports, developed materials: studies, stategies, manuals, informative materials; copies of written, audio and video materials etc.

Deadline for submission of project proposals is 07 September 2010, 17:00.
