Background:

The overall goal of the “Protection and Empowerment of Victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence” project is to improve the ability of the Government of Moldova, in partnership with civil society, local communities, and other service providers, to provide vulnerable citizens with a life free from threats or experience of domestic violence and human trafficking, as well as to improve the access of these vulnerable citizens to quality, comprehensive, necessary services (medical, psychological, education, social, legal, employment, and housing) to achieve and sustain such a life. The project is jointly implemented by UNDP, UNFPA, IOM Mission, and OSCE Mission and national implementing partners that are cooperating to address critical human security issues in Moldova.

Requested Services:

UNDP/ILDP seeks specialized national nongovernmental organization that has potential capacity and expertise to organize a study visit in Ukraine for 8 community and rayon actors from target localities and Grigoriopol rayon administration, during 5 days.

The overall objective of this study visit is to support transfer of specific knowledge and skills related to the development and maintenance of human trafficking and domestic violence services referring to both victims and aggressors.

The specific objectives of the study visit include:

  • Acquiring experience in addressing human trafficking and domestic violence issues at local level, through effective collaboration of Local Public Authorities with public service providers and civil society organizations.
  • Learning and obtaining knowledge and experiences in creating and maintaining services for subjects of human trafficking and domestic violence, both victims and aggressors from relevant services providers in Ukraine;
  • Collecting of good practices and lessons learnt in development of services for subjects of trafficking and violence and ensuring their long term functionality and identifying a replication mechanism in Transnistrian communities;
  • Establishing a good cooperation relationship between relevant services providers in Ukraine and project target communities for follow up communication and transfer of knowledge and experiences.

Eligibility:

  • Successful NGO should have strong relevant experience within preventing and combating human trafficking and/or domestic violence domain in the Republic of Moldova and/or abroad
  • Strong understanding of the current development issues in Moldova, and in particular in Transnistria;
  • Demonstrated experience with cooperation with relevant stakeholders: government institutions, including local ones; NGOs, community based organizations; etc.;
  • Experience in collaborating with international organizations which are active in domain of human trafficking and domestic violence in the Republic of Moldova
  • Experience in working with Ukrainian partners in the field of Human Trafficking and/or Domestic Violence, as well as appropriate references will be considered as advantages.
