The Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme is funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Moldova. The goal of this Programme is to increase confidence between Chisinau and Tiraspol by implementing projects in the sphere of socio-economic development with active involvement and participation of Civil Society Organizations and Local Communities.

The Programme also aims at fostering cross river cooperation and re-building the economic ties between the banks, creating employment, generating income, contributing to economic development and growth. To meet this goal, the Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme announces an Expression of Interest open to nonprofit* organizations registered on the territory of Moldova, including its Transnistrian region. The projects approved for funding should be implemented by a partnership between organizations from both banks, from December 2013 until January 2015.

Within this Expression of Interest, a grant of up to 100,000 USD will be awarded to support activities that would result in the creation of job opportunities through the development of eco-cultural rural tourism along the Nistru River. At the same time, the respective activities should have a high confidence-building potential, i.e. be able to create, through joint work and experience sharing between communities on both banks of the Nistru River, sustainable cross-river networks and links of cooperation.
