  • Enhance the participation of those Moldovan companies which are members of the LGCN in policy dialogues and formulation on promotion of responsible inclusive entrepreneurship;
  • Identify and broker public-private partnerships (PPPs) to boost community development and social involvement of companies.

Benefits expected:

  • Enhanced international integration of the countries.

Public awareness:

The project seeks to engage media and the general public in its activities through events aimed at increasing awareness of CSR among journalists and civil society organizations. Media trainings, field visits, a dedicated website, articles in newspapers and TV programmes will be organized for this purpose. For special PPPs identified within the scope of the project, special efforts will be made to make the objectives, activities and results of these interventions known to the public through launching events, press releases and other traditional communications tools.

Budget:

The total budget is 215,000 USD provided by Government of Belgium.

Partners:

Private companies, NGOs, mass media.

Noteworthy:

The private sector has a special role to play in reducing poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Although primary responsibility for MDGs lies with governments, the ability of governments and the UN to forge strong partnerships with the private sector, as well as with civil society organizations, is critical to produce positive change and improve poor people’s living conditions in a sustainable manner by 2015.
