The project’s goal is to consolidate and support the efforts to strengthen human rights in Moldova. Its final target is to mainstream human rights in policy formulation and implementation and to consolidate the capacities of state and non-state actors in the area of human rights.

Objectives: |
- Support the efforts of the national authorities to strengthen the national system for human rights promotion and protection;
- Strengthen communication on and raise awareness of human rights at national level;
- Assist the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family in adjusting legislation and practices in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Benefits expected: |
- Consolidated capacity of relevant state bodies and civil society organisations in the area of human rights promotion and protection;
- Increased awareness of human rights at national level;
- Improved national regulatory framework in the area of social inclusion of persons with disabilities, compliant with the WHO standards and internationally recognised human rights.

Public
awareness: |
Key stakeholders and general public will be regularly informed on the reform of the system of social inclusion of persons with disabilities in order to achieve greater impact of the reform. Public tolerance and non-discrimination will be promoted through various communications activities.

Noteworthy: |
The project shall contribute to building a more efficient partnership, dialogue and cooperation with the relevant national counterparts in strengthening the national system for human rights promotion and protection. By involving in joint programme/projects, the UNCT shall start applying/promoting a synergetic and comprehensive approach in providing assistance to strengthen the national human rights system. |
