An information campaign on prevention of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment in Moldova was launched

Chisinau – April 7, 2011 – “Torture Prevention” Project, funded by the European Union co-financed and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme has launched an information campaign on prevention of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment in Moldova. The campaign aims to reduce the incidence of human rights violations, particularly torture, by raising awareness among citizens to report cases of violation of human rights, thus helping to ensure effective protection of citizens' rights. The campaign promotes "green line" of the Centre for Human Rights in Moldova, where citizens can report human rights violations, particularly torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, calling free phone number 0-8001 -2222.
