UNDP supports the development of a Visitors’ and Information Centre for the Parliament of Moldova

6-7 July 2011 - UNDP helps the Parliament of Moldova to open a Visitor’s and Information Centre. It will provide information to the citizens about the functioning and the activities of the Parliament, and thus increase the transparency of the Parliament’s work.
With the aim of collecting information and ideas for setting up such a facility, a delegation of the Parliamentary Secretariat, headed by the Secretary General, visited the Parliaments of Estonia and Finland on 6 and 7 July 2011. Both countries have well- functioning units to inform the people about the work of the Parliament. During the visit the delegation discussed with the counterparts from both parliaments suggestions and practices which could be useful for the Parliament of Moldova.

The Support to Parliamentary Development in Moldova project is a four-year project funded by the Government of Denmark (DANIDA), Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and implemented and co-funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
