EUBAM signs Joint Action Plan with SSU in Kyiv 
27 April 2011 - A Joint Action Plan for Phase 8 was signed in Kyiv by the First Deputy of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Mr Vladimir Khimey, and EUBAM’s Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Slawomir Pichor, on the premises of SSU HQ.
The Joint Action Plan aims to implement joint activities targeting a reduction in security threats at the Moldova-Ukraine border, such as the smuggling of goods, armaments, munitions, drugs and precursors, illegal migration, and trafficking in human beings.
The previous Phase (Phase 7) showed enhanced cooperation and interaction with the SSU, which is reflected by the increased number of activities and events that EUBAM supports. The quality and quantity of activities as well as output increased significantly in 2010 and this trend has continued in 2011.
