Chisinau, 11 July 2011 -The first half of this year, 537 vulnerable young people received assistance in the framework of 8 networks of Training and Professional Integration Services (TPIS) for Youth in situations of social difficulties, which was created by the "Better Opportunities for Youth and Women" (OBTF) project. In the same period, through the network, 399 young people received professional guidance, other 317 young people received professional training courses, and 207 disadvantaged young people were employed. These and other data were presented at a roundtable organized by the "Better Opportunities for Women and Youth" project and local NGOs who are partners of the project.

In addition to topics related to TPIS activities, roundtable participants discussed the issues and trends in employment and rehabilitation opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

The "Better Opportunities for Youth and Women» is implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Moldovan Government, financially supported by the Government of Romania and "Emergency Fund", an international program created by George Soros in the summer of 2009 to mitigate the adverse effects of global economic crisis in Central, East, South-East Europe and Central Asia.
