The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) is seeking to appoint a Lead Technical Expert for the implementation of the National Cleaner Production Programme (NCPP) in the Republic of Moldova. The NCPP is aimed at fostering the uptake of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) methods, practices, technologies and policies, through capacity building, industry demonstrations and policy advice (http://www.ncpp.md/). The NCPP is implemented under the framework of the global RECP Programme, implemented by UNIDO in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) (www.unido.org/cp).  

The Lead Technical Expert will be responsible for delivery of high quality technical advisory services to enterprises and other organizations in particular in the priority agro-processing/food, municipal services’ and construction materials sectors to ensure effective implementation of RECP achieving the best possible economic and environmental outcomes for the respective enterprises. The Lead Technical Expert will work with national auditors trained and supported under the present NCPP.

The applicant should be a Moldovan national with a strong engineering and business management background. S/he should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in service delivery to enterprises related to improvements in productivity, technology, energy and/or environmental management. Prior project/programme management experience in the United Nations or other international context and demonstrated familiarity with operational procedures for international cooperation programmes will be given preference. Experience in translating and interpreting technical communications is required.
