Consultant on CSR strategy and programme development
Vacancy Number: 142 /Pr-2010
Background |
The UN Global Compact was launched in July 2000 and represents both a policy platform and a practical framework for companies that are committed to sustainability and responsible business practices. As a leadership initiative endorsed by chief executives, it seeks to align business operations and strategies everywhere with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Through a wide spectrum of specialized work streams, management tools, resources, and topical programs, the UN Global Compact aims to advance two complementary objectives:
- Mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world;
- Catalyze actions in support of broader UN goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
By doing so, business, as the primary agent driving globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive global economy.
The UN Global Compact is not a regulatory instrument, but rather a voluntary initiative that relies on public accountability, transparency and disclosure to complement regulation and to provide a space for innovation.
UNDP’s Global Compact Moldova Project that serves the Secretariat of Moldovan Global Compact Network wants to launch company-based CSR training and consulting programs aimed at assisting and guiding individual companies to develop their own CSR plans.
Global Compact Moldova Project looks to recruit a team of consultants or a business consulting entity that could develop, implement and deliver trainings on CSR programs for Moldovan businesses. CSR programs will envisage concrete actions that are built into company’s general business development strategy and will advise the company management on incorporating CSR responsibilities into the organizational structure of the enterprise (HR, PR, marketing departments, etc.)
