National Consultants on Research and DevelopmentVacancy Number: 044 /Pr-2010Background: Research and innovation (R&I) have an important role in driving economic growth. The present economic recession is a blow to worldwide economic growth and most governments are taking actions to restore the stability of the financial system and stimulate growth. The Government of the Republic of Moldova will proceed to changing the country development paradigm from a consumption-driven economy to an economy based on investments, innovations and competitiveness, so that the national economy becomes able to create viable and well-paid jobs, while the whole society in general and each citizen in particular could enjoy the effects of a sound economic, organic and balanced growth. In this regard, the Governmental Programme “European Integration, Freedom, Democracy and Wellbeing” 2009-2013 foreseen the creation of favourable conditions in order to develop an competitive industry, through innovation and know-know, Focus academic policies in the scientific and innovation field on building the capacity and competitiveness of the research and innovation system through technological transfer and in line with the concept of knowledge-driven economy.Tasks and Responsibilities: The team of 2 consultants will perform an assessment of the R&D sector and elaboration of the reforming concept in accordance with the international experience.
