Director Rehabilitation of Central Irrigation Systems Activity (Interim position)Vacancy Number: 124 /Pr-2009Background: UNDP supports the national development priorities of the Republic of Moldova through capacity building in the formulation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and programmes and through strengthening the national capacity to mobilize donor resources for their implementation. Within this framework UNDP provides support to national authorities in developing the Compact proposal for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). UNDP seeks a specialist to join the MCC for working as a Director Rehabilitation of Central Irrigation Systems Activity. Tasks and responsibilities: The overall scope of assignment is duly execution of tasks on MCA Moldova/MCC agenda pertaining to the CIS Rehabilitation Activity as currently expressed in the draft Compact Agreement and in existing working plans. The incumbent will act as Interim Director for the Rehabilitation of Central Irrigation Systems (CIS) Activity, which is part of Transition to High Value Agriculture Project (THVA) of the Compact program. The CIS Activity will target the rebuilding of up to 11 CIS that take water from Prut and Nistru rivers, with command area of approximately 15,500 hectares for the 11 systems.
