Project Driver - “Electoral Support to Moldova” Project

Background:
Through the “Electoral Support to Moldova” Project, United Nations Development Programme is assisting the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova (CEC) in democratic development in Moldova through strengthening of the electoral processes over the coming electoral cycles up to 2013 with immediate emphasis on the 2009 parliamentary elections.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide driving and administrative support and assistance in various aspects of project’s administrative management;
- Check vehicle condition/requirement and fill the vehicle log properly;
- Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of the assigned vehicle takes place on day-to-day basis;
- Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of cargo, pouch and other items;
- Make field trips in/or out out-side the country;
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other related repairs;
- Support and assist the Project Assistant in performing registry-related duties, such as photocopying and archiving correspondence;
- Make distribution of the Project correspondence/material, mails and project documents;
- Provide logistical support to Project Assistant to the organization and preparation of all workshops, meetings and events.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Secondary education;
- Valid driver license;
- Extensive experience in short and long road driving;
- Safe driving record;
- Experience in administrative work, preferably in an international organization, is an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of applicable Traffic Rules of Moldova;
- Skills in minor and emergency vehicle repair;
- Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal;
- Good knowledge of Word and Excel is an advantage;
- Fluency in both oral and written Romanian and Russian. Knowledge of basic English is preferable.
