Project Assistant- “Support to the Implementation of the National Human Rights Action Plan” Project

Background:
This project aims at strengthening the capacity of the state authorities and civil society to implement, monitor and report on the National Human Rights Action Plan and Moldova’s human rights commitments as required by the international standards (UN/EU treaties) in a participatory manner
This is envisaged to be achieved through the following stream of outputs and activities incorporated into 4 project components:
- Human rights education and training materials/events developed and implemented, disseminated;
- The capacity of NGOs in the implementation and development of partnerships around human rights initiatives strengthened;
- Human rights monitoring and reporting strengthened and carried out in a more transparent and participatory manner;
- Human rights communication and awareness of the public at large developed and increased.
Summary of key functions:
- Pro-actively contribute to day-to-day project implementation and ensure conformity to expected results and project workplans;
- Provide support to international consultants in the implementation of their tasks for the achievement of project results (communication, contracts, agenda, visas, hotel reservations, etc);
- Prepare and issue contracts; Maintain records on all project personnel/national consultants;
- Monitor budget expenditures and maintain a proper record of approved project budgets and their revisions;
- In accordance with the Work Plan arrange for procurement of equipment, supplies and services; Maintain equipment inventory;
Qualifications and skills required:
University Degree in economics, finance, accounting, law, public administration or other related field.
Extensive experience in administrative work, accounting/finance, economics, or other substantive area is required.
At least two years of previous experience in development assistance or related work for a donor organization, consulting company, or NGO is compulsory. Previous experience with UNDP is a very strong advantage.
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems.
Fluency in both oral and written English and Romanian is a must. Knowledge of Russian desired.
