Project Assistant- Project “Fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships to achieve MDGs in the Western CIS and Caucasus in the framework of the UN Global Compact in Moldova”

Background:
The project “Fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships to achieve MDGs in the framework of the UN Global Compact” aims to harness the value-creating assets of the private sector for poverty reduction in the Western CIS and Caucasus -- in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. This will be achieved through the establishment of the national Global Compact networks and promotion of multistakeholder partnerships for development. These are partnership projects between business (foreign or local) and public sector - government, business support organizations, civil society, donors and UN agencies. Such partnerships have double bottom line – commercial and developmental. They help create new jobs, strengthen local small enterprises by integrating them into value chains (regional and global) and facilitate development of new products or services for the vulnerable and socially excluded populations.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Pro-actively contribute to day-to-day project implementation and ensure conformity to expected results and project work-plans;
- Prepare and issue contracts;
- Draft minutes of Coordinating Board and other project related meetings;
- Assume overall responsibility for administrative matters of a more general nature, such as registry and maintenance of project files and records; Arrange external and internal meetings;
- Provide administrative support to organization of learning/training seminars, roundtables, conferences and other events as per project work plan;
- Maintain the website of the Global Compact Network, including development of website content;
- Assist in production process of publications and project materials;
- Maintain communication and share relevant information with the Global Compact Network members in Moldova
Qualifications and skills required:
University Degree in economics, finance, accounting, law, public administration or other related field. At least two years of experience in administrative work, accounting/finance, economics, or other substantive area is required.
Previous experience in development assistance or related work for a donor organization, consulting company, or NGO is a strong advantage. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems. Fluency in both oral and written English and Romanian is a must. Knowledge of Russian desired.
