Two National Consultants/Training Facilitators on HIV/AIDS and VCT (short-term)

(Project “Scaling-up the response to HIV/AIDS in the Uniformed Services of Moldova”)

Message

Background:
The project is working with the armed forces of Moldova – the National Army, the Border Guards and the Carabineers – to target people in uniform (an estimated number of 10000, with an annual turnover of 5000 in recruits) and through them – their peers and their families (around 30000 yearly) – with communication and direct outreach prevention work. The project also deal with government officials, decision-makers and commanders in the armed forces, local public authorities and NGOs to strengthen their capacity in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating HIV/AIDS/STI plans and activities.
The training is aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of participants regarding Voluntary counseling and testing for representatives of vulnerable groups.

Task for consultant:

  • To develop program and materials for the training course on HIV/AIDS – VCT in Romanian
  • To facilitate learning session with a focus on VCT.
  • To share experience on introduction of VCT modern approaches on the world health care system.
  • To develop certification of specialists passed the training. By the end of the course participants should be able to provide VCT services to vulnerable groups
  • To prepare the report about the training course in (Romanian and English) and submit it to the UNDP project manager

Requirements:

  • University degree in Health Care area,  Sociology, Psychology; advanced degree in Public health or relevant field is an asset
  • At least five (5) years of experience in health care sector;
  • At least three (3) years of experience in HIV/AIDS and STI prevention interventions;
  • Experience of work with AIDS –servicing NGOs and civil society sector is an asset;
  • Experience in tutoring, facilitating trainings and presentations;
  • Proficiency in Romanian, Russian, excellent drafting and presentation skills;
  • Preferably knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Computer literacy (good knowledge of MS Office);
  • Previous experience of working with international organizations, NGO, as a trainer is an asset.
