MDG Statistics Expert and Reporting System Expert (full-time jobs) (“Support to Strategic Policy Formulation, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Republic of Moldova” (JPPM))
Background:
Joint Programme “Support to Strategic Policy Formulation, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Republic of Moldova” provides assistance to the Government of Moldova in improving system of strategic development planning. Currently Joint Programme is seeking for two national experts to provide short-term assistance to the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
Tasks and responsibilities for MDG Statistics Expert:
Under general supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade MDG Statistics Expert will review national MDG goals, targets and indicators. Expert will review relevance, accuracy and availability of data for MDG Monitoring. On the basis of review, Expert will develop revised version of national MDG goals, targets and indicators.
Tasks and responsibilities for Reporting System Expert:
Under general supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade Reporting System Expert will review current reporting and monitoring system in public administration, including legal basis, information flows, report timing and other aspects. On the basis of this review expert will identify flaws and duplications in the system and prepare proposals for its optimization.
Qualifications and skills required:
University degree in economics, development economics, public administration, law or related areas;
Fluency in both spoken and written Romanian, Russian, and English;
Strong analytical skills, strong writing and oral communication skills;
Knowledge of current reporting and monitoring system in public administration (a must for Reporting System Expert position);
Knowledge of MDGs and MDG reporting system (a must for MDG Statistics Expert);
A minimum of 3 years experience in relevant areas;
Experience in central public administration and international organizations considered as an advantage;
Proficiency in using computer applications MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, internet and e-mail.
Expected duration of assignment: 3 months (with possible extension for 1-2 months)
