Real Economy Consultant (Support to Central Public Administration Reform project)

Background
The revised and extended Support to Central Public Administration project follows up on the results achieved in 2006, and provides for continuation of support to capacity building interventions to put a modernized public administration system in place. Strengthening the strategic planning capacity at the level of Government Office and putting in place a policy coordination system will address the needs identified by the Government of Moldova, and will increase the capacity of the Government to respond to the challenges of European integration. The duration of the assignment is up to eight months.

Summary of tasks:

The main responsibilities will include contributions to the formulation of key strategic short to medium-term priorities for the Government’s economic policy sector; support to the development of the concept for ministry/sector-level strategic planning; the preparation of annual real sector inter-ministerial activity plans in the policy making; support the ministries in preparation of quarterly reports to the Deputy Prime Minister on delivery of activities included in annual inter-ministerial activity plan, etc.

Requirements:
• University Degree in economics, finance, law, public administration or other related field;
• At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in public administration, economics or finance;
• Previous work experience in conducting policy analysis with central government institutions is a strong advantage;
• Excellent analytical and writing skills. • Fluency in both oral and written English and Romanian.
