Project Manager -“Strengthening the National Statistical System” Joint Project

The project is aimed on Strengthening the National Statistical System to improve data collection, dissemination and utilization of statistical information with particular attention to national needs and overall conformity of official statistics with international standards analysis. Project includes three components dealing with data production, data dissemination, and data use respectively. The project represents joint effort of Government of Moldova, UNDP, UNIFEM and UNFPA.

Project Manager:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the National Project Coordinator and participating agencies Programme Officers, the Project Manager ensures the effective and efficient management of the “Strengthening the National Statistical System” Project by supporting the planning, management, and coordination of project. The Project Manager applies and promotes the principles of results-based management (RBM), as well as a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

Qualifications and skills required:

• Advances University Degree in economic, public administration, law or related areas.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience is required in related areas.
• Extensive experience in administrative and financial management of complex project.
• Previous experience in development assistance or related work for a donor organization, governmental institutions, NGO or private sector/consulting firm is a very strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
• Fluency in both oral and written English and Romanian is a must, knowledge of Russian desired.
