Economist/Development Expert

Background

UNDP supports the national development priorities of the Republic of Moldova through capacity building in the formulation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and programmes and through strengthening the national capacity to mobilize donor resources for their implementation. Within this framework UNDP provides support to national authorities in developing the Compact proposal for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). For this purpose UNDP Moldova seeks a qualified Economist/Development Expert to support the MCA core team in Compact proposal elaboration.

General qualifications required:
• Advanced university degree in economics, business administration, public policy or other relevant field;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in economic and/or policy analysis;
• Strong analytical and report writing skills;
• Experience in designing programs, knowledge of coordination/management of large-scale projects/programs is a plus;
• Fluent in spoken, written English and Romanian;
• Good writing and oral communication skills;
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office);
• Experience in econometrics and in drafting terms of reference (ToR) is a plus.
