3 Drivers for Chisinau (1 post), Basarabeasca (1 post) and Otaci (1 post)- EUBAM

Background:
The European Commission and UNDP have undertaken preparatory work towards the establishment of an EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine. This Mission will notably help enhance the capacities of Moldovan and Ukrainian services to adequately ensure customs and border controls and border surveillance along their common border.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and serving of the assigning vehicle is taken place on day-to-day and report to the Head of Field Office on time;
  • Regularly checks oil, water, battery charge, brakes, tires, etc. in order to keep the vehicle operational at all times;
  • Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of cargo, pouch and other items;
  • Make field trips in/or out-side the country;
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other related repairs;
  • Make distribution of the Mission correspondence/material appropriate persons, mails and Mission documents;

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Secondary of high school education;
  • Valid driver license of category B; Safe driving record;
  • Five years of work experience as a driver (recommendations required);
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable Traffic Rules of Moldova;
  • Skills in minor and emergency vehicle repair;
  • Experience of work for UN or other international organizations is an asset;
  • Knowledge of spoken English is required;
  • Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal;
