3 Administrative Assistants/Interpreters for Chisinau (1 post), Basarabeasca (1 post), and Otaci (1 post)- EUBAM

Background:
The European Commission and UNDP have undertaken preparatory work towards the establishment of an EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine. This Mission will notably help enhance the capacities of Moldovan and Ukrainian services to adequately ensure customs and border controls and border surveillance along their common border.

Tasks and responsibilities:

    • Assure smooth operational running of the project by means of following UNDP and EC established operational rules and procedures;
    • Facilitate written translations, and/or simultaneous/consecutive interpretations from/into English, Romanian and Russian during EUBAM/BOMMOLUK events, meetings, training/learning activities;
    • Provide written translations of documents and other paper work from/into English, Russian and Romanian as required by the project;
    • Participate in project activities preparation, implementation and follow up of project activities;
    • Facilitate field visits, missions of the experts;
    • Proofread and/or edit the project’s correspondence and other official documents;
    • Prepare project related correspondence;
    • Be able to travel within the country and abroad when required by the project;

Qualifications and skills required:

      • University degree in English, Russian  and Romanian languages or related fields;
      • At least 3 years of progressive experience in international environment or other international projects;
      • Excellent fluency (both oral and written) in English, Russian  and Romanian languages;
      • Ability to work in team; under continuous pressure and meet deadlines;
      • Energetic optimistic approach to all possible problems;
      • Proactive problem solving skills and ability to quickly master new rules and procedures;
      • Strong interpersonal and computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and quick typing).
