Background
UNDP supports the national development priorities of the Republic of Moldova through capacity building in the formulation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and programmes and through strengthening the national capacity to mobilize donor resources for their implementation. Within this framework UNDP provides support to national authorities in developing the Compact proposal for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). One of the areas of support includes ensuring an effective communication and a comprehensive consultative process that would enable a proper design and submission of the Compact proposal on behalf of Moldova. For this purpose UNDP Moldova seeks a qualified Communication expert to develop a communication strategy and support the MCC core team in its implementation
General qualifications required:
- University degree in communications or other relevant field;
- Minimum 3 years working experience in public relations, journalism, or other relevant field. Knowledge of economics, governance and private sector issues is desirable;
- Experience in communicating and cooperating with governmental, non- governmental, donors and private agencies;
- Proven ability to cultivate close working relationships with governmental bodies, NGOs, media and donor representatives at all levels;
- Experience designing and making presentations;
- Skilled in stakeholder analysis techniques including surveys, focus groups and individual interviews;
- Working knowledge of print and electronic media in all formats;
- Talented at reporting/writing newsletters, web content, news articles and opinion columns, especially for Government entities and NGOs;
- Computer literate;
- Fluent in spoken, written Romanian and Russian. Good command of English is highly preferable
